Job Summary

We are actively seeking analytical, detail-obsessed professionals to manage our store-level financial reporting. As a Retail Accountant, you will audit daily sales, track shrink metrics, and reconcile complex vendor trade-in programs. You will serve as the financial watchdog of the store, delivering the signature accuracy that sets Best Buy apart in the electronics retail industry. Comprehensive Responsibilities

• Sales Reconciliation: Audit the daily point-of-sale journals, ensuring that all credit card settlements, cash deposits, and financing applications (e.g., Best Buy Credit Card) balance perfectly.
• Shrink Analysis: Partner with the Asset Protection and Operations teams to analyze inventory variances, generating reports on high-loss categories to drive operational changes.
• Vendor Programs: Reconcile manufacturer coupons, mobile carrier activations (Apple, Verizon, AT&T), and trade-in hardware credits to ensure the store receives proper corporate funding.
• Expense Management: Audit store-level controllable expenses, such as supply ordering and maintenance requests, ensuring the store stays within its allocated budget.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years of age upon application.
• No college degree strictly required; however, coursework in accounting or 2+ years of bookkeeping/retail accounting experience is highly preferred.
• Must possess advanced Microsoft Excel skills (VLOOKUPs, Pivot Tables) and the ability to interpret complex financial data.
• Uncompromising ethics, absolute attention to detail, and the ability to communicate financial concepts to non-financial store leaders.
